BUCKHEAD, Ga. — One of the victims killed in last weekend's Buckhead club shooting has been identified as a rising senior and volleyball player at Albany State University.
Mari Clayton, 21, was shot and killed in an early morning shooting Sunday at Eleven 45 Lounge in Buckhead.
Police said a gunman opened fire on the club, killing six people, including Clayton and Nakiris M. Ridley, 20.

Clayton's friend Mohamed Ghouye said he received a call from another close friend saying Clayton had been shot.
“This really hurts. It really, really hurts,” Guye said. “She honestly doesn't know how to deal with this pain…because she didn't deserve to go through this. She didn't.”
Gueye said she hopes law enforcement finds the person who did this to her best friend, who she said looked like her sister.
“She was a very bright soul person. She was always ready to laugh and go out and have fun and make other people laugh. So someone inadvertently took her life. That really put me in a bad place,” Gueye said with a sigh. “My heart, prayers and thoughts go out to her family, the Albany State University volleyball program and our close friends. This was tragic and all too sudden.”
Guay said she wished she could have comforted Clayton's mother during this time.
“Losing a child on Mother's Day would be the saddest thing ever. I can't even imagine how much pain and trauma she's going through. I wish I could give you the biggest hug in the world and cry with you,” Guyet said.
It's an act that reminds him of his best friend.
“Everyone knows, when Mari hugs you, Mari tightens. Like she's trying to hug you. So I'm just, dammit… I'm gonna miss hugs like that,” I thought so,” he said.
