The BCCI announced the advertisement for the post of head coach of the Indian men's cricket team in a late email on Monday. Current head coach Rahul Dravid's tenure ends with the T20 Worlds 2024, which will be held until the end of June. The next head coach's term will begin on July 1, 2024 and end on December 31, 2027. This essentially means the next head coach will be in charge until the next ODI World Cup in 2027.
According to the ad, the new head coach of the Indian cricket team will have a support staff of 14 to 16 people. The BCCI said that the main responsibilities of a coach include: “The successful candidate will develop a world-class Indian cricket team, achieve sustained success across all conditions and formats, and compete.'' “We have a responsibility to inspire current and future generations of cricketers and stakeholders with our approach.” The head coach has overall responsibility for the performance and management of the Indian men's team in all her three formats of the match.
“The Head Coach will lead a team of professional coaches and support staff and will be responsible for defining their roles, performance and continued development.
