EDWARDSVILLE – The Edwardsville Tigers celebrated Senior Night by scoring a lot of goals.
Six different Tigers each scored two goals, including Kylie Peel, Ellie Neese and Caroline Wylie, who scored nine goals for the Collinsville Cahox on Friday inside the District 7 Sports Complex. I won with -0.

Edwardsville finished the regular season with a 12-3-1 record, including 8-2 in SWC play.
The Tigers finished second in the SWC behind the O'Fallon Panthers, who won their fourth consecutive league championship. They won 10-0.
Collinsville finished the regular season with a record of 5-15-1, including 1-9 in SWC play. They had 1 win and 9 losses in league matches last season.
The Tigers, who defeated the Cahox 2-0 on the strength of two second-half goals earlier in the season, didn't stand a chance on Friday, Senior Day.

“It was a little disappointing knowing this was our last home game,” Peel said. “We knew we had to come out here and give it our all.”
Kelly Flannery and Olivia Kornsberg were also recognized before Friday's game.
This was Peel's first Senior Day, but the family's fifth this season.
Peele, one of triplets, watched her younger sister Dylan celebrate Senior Day in cross country in the fall and track and field in the spring, while her younger sister Molly participated in tennis festivities in the fall and basketball in the winter. .

“It was really weird, especially the last game. This was the end for all of us,” Peel said.
EHS led 5-0 at halftime Friday on goals from Maggie Young, Peel, Neese, Wiley and Dayana Figueroa. Nice, Young, Figueroa and Wiley each added an assist.
In the second half, the Tigers had goals from Peel, Nice, Jenny Burrows and Wylie, with assists from Nice, Thea Dimitroff, Peel and Ira Homan.
Wiley's goal with just over four minutes left clinched the victory due to the IHSA mercy rule.

It was the second short game win for the Tigers this season. They defeated Olton 10-0 on April 4 in a game called at halftime.
Nice had two goals and two assists, Wiley and Peel each had two goals and one assist, and Young and Figueroa each had one goal and one assist.
Emma Birkenmayer and Burrows shared the shutout goals for the Tigers.it was team 10th of the regular season.
Edwardsville will seek its seventh consecutive regional championship when it opens the Class 3A Olton Regional as the No. 2 seed and hosts the No. 8 Redbirds on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. inside Public School Stadium.

In the other semifinal, third-seeded Granite City will face sixth-seeded Quincy on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
The district championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m.
Despite entering the postseason without a team due to several injuries, EHS has high expectations for the long run. His 2004 was the program's only state tournament appearance, but the Tigers believe they have the right pieces in place to end that drought.

“We still want to win it all,” Peel said. “We can get really good. We need to work on marking people and shooting.”
