USC transfer portal forward Brandon Gardner committed to Bobby Hurley and the Arizona State basketball program. Gardner, a 6-foot-8 forward, was redshirted by a doctor during his freshman year at USC and entered the transfer portal on April 23 after seeing action in one game.
The Georgia native, a 2023 graduate of Christ the King Regional High School, was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports Index and was ranked the No. 93 player nationally. He also checked in as the No. 38 ranked player at his position and the No. 5 player in New York State.
Gardner held offers from Arizona State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Illinois State, Alabama, Miami, St. John's and Georgetown, among others.
It will be interesting to see how Bobby Hurley uses Gardner at Arizona State. This program, remember, will be playing in the Big 12 next season. It's worth noting that multiple USC players from this past season transferred to schools that competed in the Pac-12 last year and will be playing in a new conference this year.
