Former Indian cricketer S Sreesanth has made a major revelation. The former Indian pacer from Kerala revealed that he was called Madrasi throughout his life. It is worth noting that madrasi is a regional slur used against indigenous people or residents of southern India, primarily in the state of Tamil Nadu. Sreesanth made his debut for India in October 2005 in an ODI match against Sri Lanka in Nagpur. The pacer played in all his three formats for India and picked 169 wickets.
“I've always been like that…I can tell you that. Look below. Bombay was more like Madrasi. They played U-13s, U-14s, U-16s and U-16s. 19. Then I got a team with Coach (Tuskers Kerala) and it felt like I was playing for the country again,'' Sreesanth said on 'The Ranveer Show'. .
In the same program, Sreesanth revealed that the now defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala team is yet to be paid their salaries. The former Indian pacer was part of the team as a player in his 2011 edition of the IPL. The team finished before the next edition.
“They have to pay a lot of money. McCullum was also there, and Jadeja,'' Sreesanth said.
“Guys, I think BCCI is literally paying you, pay us…anyway, when you pay, remember 18% interest every year. I think by the time we get married, we will definitely have received the money.'' (Laughs) The team was supposed to be in its third year, but it ended after the first year, and even now, even when the players meet I don't think anyone is talking about that. We’re talking about it,” he added.
