NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man was killed on Saturday after a scuffle that broke out during a cricket match in northwest Delhi's Bharat Nagar. The deceased was identified as Vishal, who lived with his family in Bharat Nagar and worked at a cosmetics shop. Police received a report about the incident at 3 p.m. According to a senior police official, Vishal's younger brother Kunal (19) was playing cricket when he got into an argument with another person. Kunal then called his brother, who was at his house. “Upon reaching the ground, he tried to intervene in the scuffle but was thrashed by other groups and attacked with bats. Mr. Vishal was taken to hospital for treatment but could not be saved. A case has been registered in this regard,” the police officer added. Talking to TOI, Rajesh, a relative of Vishal, said, “While the match was being played, one of the boys came there and requested to be allowed to join the match from the middle.” he claimed. When his request was refused, he started a scuffle and attacked Kunal. Kunal then called his brother. ” Vishal was married. His child turns 1 on Sunday. Police have arrested several suspects in this case and are conducting interrogations.
