University of Minnesota Men's Basketball Head Coach ben johnson Minneapolis native Lucy Patterson has announced that she will be joining the Golden Gophers program for the 2024-25 season. Patterson, who is transferring from Charlotte to Minnesota, has one year of eligibility remaining.

Patterson, a 6-foot-2 guard, was a second-team All-American Athletic Conference selection with Charlotte last year and a second-team all-district selection. He averaged 14.6 points and led the 49ers in scoring, ranking second in the AAC. Patterson started all 31 games for Charlotte and scored in double figures in 24 games. In addition to his own PPG, he shot 43.6 from the field and 35% from beyond the arc, with 106 rebounds, 32 steals, 77 assists, and seven blocks. Patterson started 25 games for the 49ers in 2022-23 and was named All-CUSA honorable mention. He averaged 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists en route to the CBI title.
Patterson began his college career at Missouri State University, where he played in 57 games, starting 26 games as a sophomore and playing in 23 of 24 games as a true freshman. In high school, Patterson played at Brooklyn Center and finished his high school career at Minnesota Prep Academy, where he was coached by his father, Lucas, as both an assistant at Brooklyn Center and head coach at Minnesota Prep. In high school, Patterson totaled 2,900 points, 800 assists, and 700 rebounds.
