On Tuesday, North Kitsap (16-0) maintained its season winning streak in the first round of the 2A West Central/Seeking Bi-District Boys Soccer Tournament. The top-seeded Vikings hosted No. 8 Washington and won 5-0 to earn a state berth.
The Vikings led 2-0 at halftime with a hat trick from Pepe Deluna, additional goals from Mason Chmielewski and Ethan Peck, and four total assists from Harper Sabari. North Kitsap head coach Greg St. Peter said the first 15 minutes made his players a little nervous, but his team had no shortage of opportunities to attack and ultimately sealed the game in the second half. .
“Once we score the third (goal), we know it’s over,” St. Peter said.
North Kitsap, last year's state runner-up, will host No. 4 Fife in the nation in the semifinals Thursday at 7 p.m. in Poulsbo.
Two other Olympic League teams competed in district play on Tuesday. No. 16 North Mason (6-9-1) ended its season with a 2-0 loss to No. 9 White River, and No. 7 Bremerton (9-7) lost to No. 2 Franklin Pierce, 0-6. Defeated. The Knights will host the elimination game against No. 10 Sammamish Thursday at 7 p.m.
Central Kitsap (13-1-3) advanced to the championship game of the 3A West Central/Southwest Bi-District Tournament with a 2-1 penalty shootout win over No. 5 Gig Harbor. It was the top-seeded Cougars' third win over the Tides this spring and the team's second straight win by shootout.
Keegan Bailey scored the goal in regulation on a corner corner, and goaltender Carson LeBeau made several key saves to keep the Cougars in position to win.
“He was sensational,” Central Kitsap head coach Patrick Leonard said of LeBeau.
Central Kitsap will face No. 2 Silas in the district title game Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Auburn Memorial Stadium.

In another District 3A game, No. 17 Bainbridge defeated No. 4 Mountain View 2-1 with Finn Reynolds scoring the winning goal in the 75th minute. The Spartans will play Timberline at Federal Way Stadium on Thursday at 5 p.m. with a chance to qualify for state.
Klahowya (13-2-2) defeated Cascade Christian 2-1 in a shootout to qualify for the 1A state tournament. The No. 3 Eagles will play No. 1 Vashon Island in the West Central Division title game at Tacoma's Lincoln Bowl Thursday at 7 p.m.
