LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The hearing for Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray, who is accused of drunk driving, has been postponed until next month.
Murray's attorney, Brad Ross, appeared in Lancaster County Court on Wednesday and asked to postpone the hearing to June.
Police said Murray was pulled over on April 5 near Vine Street and Antelope Valley Parkway for violating multiple traffic laws.
LPD said Harper's blood alcohol level was 0.169%. Nebraska's legal limit is 0.08%.
Police said she had fake identification and did not comply with officers' commands.
Murray was charged with first-offense drunk driving, careless driving and violation of the Motor Vehicle License Act.
Ross told Channel 8 that Murray “is going to do everything he can” to make amends.
“She knows she made a lot of mistakes,” Ross said. “She wants to move forward with the process, fix what she can, and then she faces the consequences both here and at the university.”
Murray was suspended for Saturday's spring game at Kearney.
After the game, Nebraska volleyball team coach John Cook did not comment on Murray's current status with the team.
“I hope she can finish in the final, but that's the main goal right now,” Cook said.
Murray's next court date is scheduled for June 24.
