The Director of Basketball Operations assists in the organization and supervision of all logistical aspects of the men's basketball team within the boundaries specified by the University, the Southland Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Main duties and responsibilities
- Comply with all NCAA, Southland Conference, and Nicholls State University policies, rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
- Assist with on-campus recruitment of future student-athletes. Maintain recruitment software and coordinate weekly email distribution.
- Graphic production for recruitment activities and SNS
- Adjust all videos (i.e. film changes, film edits, scout tapes, etc.)
- Plan special events (e.g. banquets, senior and team meet-ups, etc.).
- Coordinates all team and coach travel for competitions and recruiting.
- Coordinates all community service functions for assigned programs.
- Serves as a liaison with marketing/promotions, compliance, academic support, facility management, and game operations.
- Coordinate summer camp operations.
- Performs duties in related departments as necessary.
- Supporting on-court skill development
- Supervision of student administrators
- Coordinate facility schedules for practices, game day shootarounds, and out-of-season training.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested, assigned, or requested by the Head Coach and/or staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2-3 years of related experience required.
- Ability to be detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations and foster an inclusive environment.
- Must be able to work hours during home games, road games, alumni/fan events, team activities, on-campus and off-campus community service events, and unofficial and official visitation plans.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, PhotoShop, Canva, Synergy, and Sportscode.
