The Nebraska volleyball team played its annual spring game Saturday afternoon in Kearney, with Denver at home. The Huskers defeated the Pioneers 25-13, 25-12, 25-15 in front of a capacity crowd of 5,094.
Nebraska hit .446 in the game and held Denver to .120. The Huskers also defeated the Pioneers in kills (46-24), assists (44-23), digs (40-21), blocks (6-4) and aces (4-1). Lindsey Krause led the Huskers with 12 kills on 24 attacks and two digs. Merritt Beeson had 10 kills on 17 attempts, along with four blocks, three digs and two aces. Skylar Pierce also contributed 10 kills on 18 attacks.
Andy Jackson had 7 kills and 3 blocks on 14 attacks and Rebecca Arick had 5 kills on 7 attacks and 3 blocks. Bergen Riley led the Huskers with 20 assists and also had six digs. Kennedy Orr had 16 assists.
Lexi Rodriguez finished with a team-high 12 points. Laney Choboy had seven digs and Olivia Mauch added five digs and an ace. The Huskers begin the 2024 season in August.
