On Friday, BYU basketball guard Dawson Baker joined BYU Sports Nation to provide an update on his injury recovery schedule. After three surgeries, Baker hopes to be back to 100% next month.
“I had two, actually three surgeries,” Baker said of his leg's recovery. “I had two on my legs and one on my knee as a precautionary measure. What was strange was that [original] The surgery would have been done well in advance of the season and everything would have come out clean. There is no sign of recovery, and a broken leg remains… 1714845548 I feel much better. Now I'm much more responsive and able to do more. ”
Baker had surgery on the same injured foot before last season. Mr. Baker was never completely healthy, as his illness did not heal as expected. Last year, he played a few games with a foot injury, but he wasn't in the best of health.
Baker expects to return to full health within the next few months. “Right now, it's like day-to-day, week-to-week. We're working a lot, rehabbing, getting our strength back…I think we'll definitely be 100 next month.” No, I feel very good. ”

When BYU signed Baker through the transfer portal, he was expected to be a key part of the BYU offense. Baker has the ability to get to the rim and create his own shot, but BYU lacked that skill during stretches last season. Instead, Baker was sidelined for almost the entire season with an injury. Baker appeared in just four games at BYU, averaging 5.0 points in just 10 minutes per game.
If he is healthy, Baker will have a larger role in the BYU basketball program next season.
