The timing of Clifford Omoruyi's decision day reveal, along with decision day itself, may bode well for UNC basketball head coach Hubert Davis and his staff.
After all, the giant graduate transfer from Rutgers is currently visiting the Tar Heels. And on Friday night, he told On3's Joe Tipton that he would announce the recruitment winner sometime on Sunday.

Also Friday night, Omoruyi officially narrowed his list of 12 schools to a final four: UNC, Georgetown, Alabama and Kansas State. These are the only programs that have accepted his visit since he entered the transfer portal on March 20th.
So far, no one at 247Sports Crystal Ball has predicted Clifford Omoruyi's sweepstakes.
UNC Basketball certainly has a need at the 22-year-old's position. That's because they lost former five-year starting center Armando Bacot to exhaustion of eligibility and have yet to find a proven, formidable force to replace him.
Omoruyi, the top undetermined center in the transfer portal, averaged 10.4 points and 8.3 rebounds last season and led the Big Ten with 2.9 blocks per game. The 6-foot-11, 240-pounder was twice named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team and finished in the top five in the conference in rebounding the past two seasons.
