The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team is close to finalizing its 2024 basketball roster after spending time recruiting in the transfer portal. One of the biggest shoes left in Alabama's offseason is what path forward guard Mark Sears will take.
Sears officially named himself for the NBA draft in April, but announced he would remain eligible for college if he was not satisfied with the feedback he received from NBA scouts during the pre-draft process.
On Friday, the NBA announced that Mark Sears is one of 78 candidates invited to the NBA Combine in Chicago. The combine will be held from May 12th to May 19th and will be a great opportunity for players to showcase their skills against the rest of the draft class.
Players will undergo physical measurements and medical tests, meet with their respective teams, and undergo target practice before participating in 5-on-5 action games. Athletes are asked to demonstrate vertical jumps, bench presses, three-quarter court sprints, and lane agility, while also measuring height, wingspan, weight, and standing height with and without shoes. The distance reached, body fat, and hand size are measured. and the width of your hand.
Other SEC players invited to integrate include Trevon Brazil of Arkansas, Rob Dillingham of Kentucky, Antonio Reeves, Reed Shepard and Justin Edwards, and Dalton Knecht of Tennessee.
Alabama's Jalin Stephenson was not invited to the NBA draft, despite having put his name on the list earlier this week.
