University Park, Pennsylvania- Penn State Women's Basketball Head Coach carolyn kiger We welcome Sean Baer to Happy Valley as an assistant coach on our staff. Baer brings collegiate and high school experience as well as a history of data and analytics to his Lions coaching staff. The Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, native served one year as director of video and analytics at PSU from 2020 to 2021.

Baer recently spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J. In his first season with the Hawks, he led the team to 12 wins, including a seven-win improvement in conference play. Contributed. . Prior to his time at Monmouth, Baer spent a season at Happy Valley. While on Penn State's staff, he used video and analytics to increase his team's conference wins by six over the previous year. 15 ohio. Baer, who graduated from Dickinson College in 2012, returned to school seven years later to become a graduate assistant at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a master's degree while working with the Razorbacks men's basketball team. His duties at the University of Arkansas included graphics recruitment, logistics organization, strategic research, and many other responsibilities within the program. Baer earned a master's degree in adult and lifelong learning from Arkansas State.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Baer served as the head men's basketball coach at New Oxford High School in Pennsylvania from 2013 to 2019. He has enjoyed great success throughout his tenure as head coach, securing three consecutive winning seasons, including two trips to the PIAA 5A postseason in 2017 and 2018. His team also had a 20+ win season in 2018-19. In his final year leading the University of New Oxford men's basketball program, he won GameTimePA's Coach of the Year award in 2019.
