The Boulder City High School boys volleyball team finished league play with an undefeated record, winning two games this week and finishing the regular season with a record of 23 wins and 6 losses.
Head coach Rachel Huxford said: “I couldn't be more pleased with the way we played.” “It's always great to go undefeated in league play. Our players have worked hard this season as well, and now we're ready for the postseason.”
On April 25, the Eagles defeated rival Moapa Valley 3-0 and defeated the Pirates 25-7, 25-20, 25-13.
Senior Brady Sorenson led the way with 11 kills and four aces, while senior Travis Hess added eight kills and four blocks.
Upon returning to the game, senior Roman Rose had 34 assists and junior Easton Welborn led the defense with seven assists.
The Eagles, who have won all league games, defeated Desert Pines 25-21, 25-9, 25-9 on April 29, winning 3-0.
Hess led the offensive line with 13 kills and two blocks, while Sorenson added nine kills and two blocks.
An all-around threat, Rose had 31 assists, nine aces, and five kills.
Senior Ike Pappas added four aces and sophomore David Zwahren added three digs.
The Eagles, who enter postseason play Tuesday at home against an opponent to be determined, are now in prime position to win their fourth straight 3A state championship.
“We're playing a team we've never played before, so there's an unknown element,” Huxford said. “No matter who the opponent is, we're not taking anything for granted. This group knows how to win. They've grown up together, so it's an honor to watch them play. did.”
