Duke's basketball staff didn't seem like the frontrunner in the Caleb Wilson sweepstakes. Still, it looks like the Blue Devils aren't giving up hope.

In a recent conversation with On3, the 6-foot-9, 205-pound forward, a senior at Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Georgia), is ranked No. 4 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite Rankings. He said he holds an offer to Duke basketball starting in July. He cited the Blue Devils as among his most eager recruiters. He's also hotly pursuing Arkansas, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Baylor, Auburn and UNC.
Speaking of UNC, the Tar Heels took Wilson on an official visit in early February. His visit to Chapel Hill included attending UNC's home win over arch-rival Duke at the Smith Center, after which he posted the following video of himself participating in a celebration in Carolina's locker room.
And there is no question that UNC remains a serious contender for explosive ordnance preparation services. Wilson suggested as much, pointing to On3 consistent conversations between Hubert Davis and Tar Heel assistant Sean May.
Still, despite the fact that John Scheyer and his gang still haven't accepted him in Durham, Wilson has expressed a desire to check out the Blue Devils, and he's at Duke, which produces NBA talent at his position. He said he respects his abilities. Additionally, he explained that he is in no hurry to choose a winner and could possibly wait until next spring to announce his decision.
“It's just a rich basketball culture,” Wilson, one of eight players on Scheyer's 2025 wish list, said of Duke. “They definitely had great power forwards and small forwards. That's what I want to be in the NBA, be a small forward or a power forward.
“I definitely watch them and see the change. I like it.”
