Portland, Oregon (light seal) โ A former Portland State University football player has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for fatally shooting his girlfriend in 2022, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt announced.

KOIN 6 previously reported that Harpole turned himself in to deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office in Bend later that day. He was then brought back to Portland and turned over to city police.
Harpole was arrested by the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office on charges of second-degree murder, domestic violence and unlawful use of a weapon.
After more than a week, Harpole was charged with both of these charges.
On April 15, 2024, he pleaded guilty and a judge sentenced him on charges of first-degree manslaughter constituting domestic violence and unlawful use of a weapon constituting domestic violence.
The district attorney's office announced that Harpole will be supervised for two years after his incarceration.
He is currently serving his sentence in the Oregon Department of Corrections.
