GEORGETOWN โ Sandhill Fields and the Sussex Sports Center Foundation announced Thursday that they have signed a lease with the Delmarva Rush, the largest soccer club in southern Delaware.
The partnership will ensure that local youth have the opportunity to enjoy and learn about soccer in a prestigious, centrally located soccer club with first-class facilities, the foundation said in a press release.
With more than 1,500 players in its program, Delmarva Rush provides a comprehensive soccer education that emphasizes not only skill development, but also the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and character development.
Delmarva Rush, originally operated as Henlopen Soccer, is a local club founded in 1996. Based in Sandhill Fields, Delmarva Rush will be able to continue to offer a wide range of programs and opportunities to local athletes of all ages and skill levels. Sandhill Fields is a 90-acre sports complex located at 20330 Sandhill Road in Georgetown. The facility features eight regulation Bermuda grass soccer fields that are fully convertible for lacrosse, six regulation pickleball courts, and 5.5 miles of walking trails with a regulation 5.1-mile cross-country course .
Other amenities include extensive grounds, picnic pavilions, and restrooms. The complex is available for tournaments, club practice, and community use.
