Malibu, California – Eight members of the Pepperdine Beach Volleyball team earned West Coast Conference postseason recognition; Christine Breede, Kate Clermont, madison oriskovic and mckenna thomas Similarly, this year's new students Kaydon Myers.
In addition to All-WCC First Team honors and Freshman of the Year. Gabriela Perez and Sarlota Svobodova earned a second team nod; maya mcnabney And Myers was named to the All-Freshman team.
In addition to being named to this year's First Team, Breede (Balogh, Latvia) earned All-WCC Second Team honors in 2023. This season, she primarily played the No. 2 position and tied Oriskovic for the team's best overall record with 27 wins and 11 losses. In all her matches. Breede and Orisković were awarded WCC Pair of the Week on April 1st.
This is Clermont's second first team selection, having also been named to the All-WCC first team last year. Clermont (Burlington, Ont., Canada) was also a member of the 2022 WCC All-Freshman Team. This season, she played every game in the No. 1 spot alongside her partner Thomas, posting an overall record of 24 wins and 14 losses. Clermont and Thomas were awarded WCC Pair of the Week on March 11th.
Oriskovic (Santa Barbara, Calif.), who primarily played on court two, tied Breede with a team-best 27-11 overall. In addition to being named to this year's first team, he was also named to the All-WCC second team in 2023. Oriscovic and Breede were named WCC Pair of the Week on April 1st.
In addition to earning All-WCC First Team honors this year, Thomas (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) also earned All-WCC First Team honors in 2023. In 2022, he earned AVCA top flight honors, WCC Newcomer of the Year honors, and made the WCC All-Freshman Team. Thomas played every game in slot No. 1 with his partner Clermont, posting a 23-13 record and winning WCC Pair of the Week honors on March 11th.
Myers (Scottsdale, Ariz.) made an immediate impact for the Waves as a freshman. She had a great year, earning WCC Freshman of the Year honors in addition to being a member of the All-Freshman team. Myers primarily played on Court 4, and in her freshman season she posted a 17-21 record.
Perez (Loomis, Calif.) had a solid sophomore year, being named to the All-WCC Second Team after being named to the WCC All-Freshman Team last year. She played alongside Svobodova for most of the matches in slot number three, giving her an overall record of 21 wins and 17 losses. She went 20-15 while on Court 3.
Svobodova (Brno, Czech Republic), who won numerous awards as a Chanticleer, quickly showed her dominance after transferring from Coastal Carolina, earning second-team All-WCC honors in her first year as a member of the Wave. She posted a 19-15 overall record, with a 19-13 record primarily playing on court three.
In his freshman campaign, McNabney (Ancaster, Ontario, Canada) posted a 12-7 record in the No. 5 slot and was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.
Pepperdine finished the season with a 22-16 record and advanced to the West Coast Conference Championship Finals for the ninth straight season.
