— The San Diego Mojo moved one step closer to clinching the fourth and final Professional Volleyball Federation playoff spot with a five-set victory over the visiting Orlando Valkyries.
— And the NCAA National Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship begins Friday in Gulf Shores, Alabama, with top-seeded USC seeking its fourth straight title.

San Diego has won four of six games and six of the last nine, defeating Orlando 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-11.

The next game is Wednesday, when Orlando goes to Las Vegas. Columbus is in Atlanta on Thursday.
Each team will play 24 games. The Vibe, who have secured their spot at the top of the playoffs, have two games remaining. Omaha still has four games left, Grand Rapids has four, San Diego has five, Columbus still has seven, Orlando has three and Las Vegas has four.
Willow Johnson led the way with 17 kills, nine digs, five blocks and three solos in San Diego's win. Former Oregon teammate Ronica Stone added 13 kills, two assists, seven digs, three blocks and one solo. Shara Marie Venegas Medina had 15 digs and seven assists. San Diego has won five five-set matches, the most coming in PVF.
Orlando got 13 kills each from Adora Anae and Shaina Joseph and 11 kills from Kaz Brown, who had three digs, two aces, six blocks and three solos. Setter Carly Graham had 43 assists, 14 digs, two kills, two blocks and one solo.
