Coach Dana Altman's Oregon Ducks basketball team is preparing for its first season in the Big Ten with the addition of standout four-star guard Raheim Moss, according to Rivals Transfer Ratings.
Moss, a native of Springfield, Ohio, considered opportunities from Ohio State, Texas A&M and Ole Miss before committing to Oregon State.
Moss made a name for himself in Toledo as a dynamic, strong guard. He finished his junior season as a first-team All-MAC selection, averaging 15.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
In his three years with the Rockets, he shot 46.0 percent from the field and 75.3 percent from the free throw line. His defensive ability was also recognized, and he was selected to the MAC All-Defensive Team last year and the All-MAC Freshman Team for the 2021-22 season.
Moss' move to Oregon comes at a pivotal time as the Ducks prepare to make the Big Ten, giving him plenty of opportunities to play closer to his Midwest roots.
Moss is poised to compete for the starting guard spot vacated by the graduation of Jermaine Quinard and looks to make an immediate impact in a highly competitive conference.
The Ducks are counting on Moss' defensive and scoring ability to overcome the challenges of the Big Ten. His addition, along with the addition of Brandon Angell from Stanford University, greatly strengthens the University of Oregon's roster and prepares it to take on the increased competition it will encounter in its new conference.
