Four Penn State men's volleyball players have been named to the All-American roster. AVCA announced Monday. John Kerr was named to the first team, Toby Ezeonu and Ryan Mark were named to the second team, and Owen Rose was named honorable mention.
Earlier this month, Kerr earned EIVA first team honors and EIVA Player of the Year Award. The fifth-year senior was a major contributor to the Nittany Lion's success in the EIVA Conference Tournament. Carr had 50 kills, five aces, and 17 digs in two games. His performance led him to the NCAA Tournament with 406 kills, 28 aces, and a batting average of .373.
This was Ezeonu's third AVCA All-American honor. The New Jersey native was named honorable mention in 2022 and earned first-team honors in 2023.
As for Merc, this is the first time he has earned second-team honors as he was named honorable mention in 2023. As for Rose, this is the second year in a row that she has been named an honorable mention.
Carr and the Nittany Lions will face the University of California, Irvine in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Tuesday, April 30th at 4:30 p.m. in Long Beach, California.
