The University of Missouri men's basketball team added to its roster on Monday, signing a second-year starter from Duke University. mark mitchell.
Mitchell, ranked as the nation's No. 7 transfer by CBS Sports, started 67 of 68 games in two seasons at Duke. The 6-foot-9 forward scored 700 points for the Blue Devils, averaging 10.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Mitchell also led Duke to 54 wins over two campaigns with 29 ACC championships, one ACC Tournament championship and two NCAA Tournament appearances, including a berth in the 2024 Elite Eight.

Mitchell, a native of Kansas City, Kansas, ranked second at Duke as a sophomore in 2023-24 with 11.6 points per game, 6.0 rebounds, 24 blocks and 159 free throw attempts. Mitchell was named to the Julius Erving Award Watch List, which recognizes the nation's top small forwards, and scored in double figures in 21 of 33 games, with five 20-point performances and three double-doubles. Overall, he led the team in scoring seven times and making six appearances in the 2023-24 season.
Prior to his time at Duke University, Mitchell scored a game-high 19 points in the annual All-Star Game and was named a McDonald's All-American in 2022. Ranked as high as the No. 13 recruit in the nation, Mitchell averaged 17.6 points and 6.3 rebounds as a senior at Sunrise Christian Academy.
Mitchell becomes the Tigers' fourth signing in the spring transfer window. jacob cruz, tony perkins and Marquez Warrick. The four players are collectively ranked the No. 6 transfer class in the nation and will connect with the No. 4 freshman class in the nation, who signed in November as the newest members of the Mizzou program.
