Michigan State's women's basketball program remained busy in the transfer portal Saturday.
Arizona State transfer Ja'Dan Simmons announced on Saturday via his Instagram account his commitment to commit to coach Robin Fralick and the Spartans for his final season.
Simmons, a guard, emerged as a scorer and defender during his four seasons at Arizona State, starting 107 of 108 games. She ranks 17th in program history with 1,139 career points. She was also named All-Pac-12 honorable mention in the defensive category during her final two seasons with the Sun Devils.
Simmons averaged 9.5 points, 4.1 assists and 3.4 rebounds last season at Arizona State.
Saturday marked the third consecutive day MSU acquired a player from the transfer portal. The Spartans received a commitment from Ball State's Nyla Hampton on Friday.
The 5-foot-7 Hampton is Ball State's starting guard and started all 25 games for Ball State this winter, averaging 9.4 points, 4.8 assists and 3.8 rebounds. She was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year this winter.
Before playing at Ball State, Hampton played three seasons for Fralick at Bowling Green.
The Spartans added Ohio State transfer Emma Shumate through the transfer portal on Thursday and acquired a commitment from Oregon standout Grace VanSleuten last week.
