Former Colorado women's basketball player Shelomi Sanders has found a new home.
On Thursday night, Sanders announced his transfer to Alabama A&M.
Shelomi, who has been a bye with the Buffaloes for the past year and a half and is the daughter of CU football head coach Deion Sanders, put her name in the transfer portal earlier this month.
For Shelomi, it will be a return to the Southwestern Athletic Conference. She began her career as a walk-on in the fall of 2022 at Jackson State, a perennial SWAC powerhouse. Her father was the head football coach there. When her father was accepted to the University of California in December 2022, Shelomi followed him to Boulder and enrolled. The women's basketball team is in the middle of its season.
Shelomi redshirted the 2022-23 season. Last season, Shelomi appeared in five games, playing 11 minutes and scoring three goals.
Sanders is one of seven CU players to enter the transfer portal, and several have already committed to new schools.
Center Aaronet Vonleh has committed to contribute to Baylor. Transferred Brianna McLeod to SMU. She escorts Mikayla Johnson to Pittsburgh. And transport Lucy Loomis-Gaultl to Idaho.
Guards Jaydyn Acheson and Lele Tanubasa have not yet announced their destinations.
