Tempe, Arizona – Arizona Beach Volleyball lost a close game to in-state rival and No. 6 seed ASU, ending its appearance in the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Sand Cats lost 3-0 to the Sun Devils Thursday at 1:45 p.m., leaving the No. 2 and No. 4 games unfinished after ASU earned the points.
Arizona's abby russell/Olivia McElroy They fell just short of the ASU pair in the afternoon. The pair are 1-2 in the tournament and 18-15 (.545) on the season.
grace cook/Kylie Fitzsimmons They battled for third place with the ASU pair, but ultimately lost two sets to the Sun Devils pair. Cook and Fitzsimmons were 0-1 in tournament play, but are 12-9 (.571) as a pair this season.
Arizona's miranda elo/Ashlyn Zilliken They put up a great fight against the 4th place Sun Devils, but ultimately fell short in two close sets. The pair went 1-1 in the tournament, giving him a season record of 16-13 (.552).
Looking ahead
The Wildcats continue to aim for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will be held on Sunday, April 28th at 8 a.m.
