MUSKEGON, Mich. โ The Michigan Basketball Coaches Association released its 2023-24 All-State list this week, with 11 Muskegon-area girls basketball players named to the honor team.
Five standout players were named to the BCAM Best List in their respective divisions, which serves as first-team all-state nominations by the Coaches Association, and six additional local players earned honorable mention selections.
Below are 11 Muskegon area girls basketball players who earned BCAM All-State honors for the 2023-24 season.

Mariah Thayne, Muskegon
Year: 2nd grade
statistics: He averaged 20.1 points, eight rebounds, and two assists this winter, shooting 41 percent from the field. She helped Muskegon to an 18-6 overall record and 14-0 in the OK Green Conference.

Kamiyah Bonner, Muskegon
Year: 2nd grade
statistics: This season, he averaged 14.1 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game, shooting 40 percent from the field. She helped Muskegon to an 18-6 overall record and 14-0 in the OK Green Conference.

Addie Hovey, Heart
Year: junior
statistics: He recorded 14.5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3.5 steals per game, and surpassed the 1,000-point mark in the final game of the regular season.

Ella Andree, Spring Lake
Year: Senior
statistics: He averaged 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2 steals per game, shooting 36 percent from 3-point range. She also surpassed 100 career 3-pointers made during the district tournament.

Jessica Bennett, Fremont
Year: Senior
statistics: He averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2.8 steals, 2.7 blocks, and 2 assists per game. She also recorded 12 blocks in her win against Whitehall on January 10, breaking her program record.

statistics: He averaged 10.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 3.5 steals per game.

statistics: He averaged 12.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 3.1 steals per game.

Ashley Folkema, Western Michigan Christian
Year: Senior
statistics: He averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 steals, 3.2 assists, and 2.4 blocks per game, shooting 75 percent from the free throw line.

Madeline Gears, Kent City
Year: Senior
statistics: He averaged 18 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 2.5 assists, and 2 blocks per game, shooting 57 percent from the field. She tied a Kent City school record with 46 points in her team's 62-55 win over Grant and ranks second in Kent City girls basketball history with a total of 1,506 points.

Len Nelson, Central Mason County
Year: Senior
statistics: He recorded 13 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, and shot 65 percent from the field. He had 13 double-doubles this season and finished his career with 980 points, sixth in school history.

Jayna Edmondson, Manistee
Year: Senior
statistics: He averaged 16 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, shooting 57 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point range.
