Harbor High School's beach volleyball team finished undefeated Wednesday with a 5-0 win over visiting Soquel in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League.
Only one match went to three sets. In fifth place, Annika Dawson and Zoe Kemos defeated Sienna Betterman and Julia Inkeles 21-13, 19-21, 15-2.
Gwen Grigsby and Ira Johnson defeated Zoe Adams and Gemma Reyes 21-7, 21-16 to take first place. Maren O'Farrell and Sabine Kemos defeated Sadie Holden and Bella Hogan 21-11, 21-12 to take second place. 2. Tee Stockwell and Grace Stryker defeated Lily Juarez Sapone and Mary Henderson 21-15, 21-13 for third place, Dakota Johnson and Sandy Enriquez defeated Zoe Vargas and Jayden Coleman defeated 21-8, 22-20. No. 4.
Harbaugh praised the four seniors who helped the Pirates win three SCCAL titles: Grigsby, Dakota Johnson, Dawson and Sarah Melvin.
The top three doubles teams from Harbor will advance to the SCCAL doubles tournament on May 2nd and 3rd at Main Beach.

Watsonville 3, Carmel 1: The Wildcats scored three runs in the fourth inning to defeat the Padres and take sole possession of first place in the Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division on Wednesday.
Freshman Esperanza Sigala had a double, an RBI and an RBI for the Wildcats. Sophomore Mia Espinoza had a hit and an RBI, and junior Ashley Jimenez also had an RBI. Senior Julia Maldonado and sophomore Audrina Gonzalez each had a hit and run.
Amelia Martinez pitched a complete game with six hits, one walk and one run. She struck out five batters. Senior Allison Hacker gave up six hits in a complete game loss for the Padres (9-7, 5-2).
Watsonville (12-4, 8-1) hosts Pacific Grove (10-8-1, 5-2) Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Monte Vista Christian 10, Santa Catalina 0; 5 Inns: Kayla Fralove-Silveira had three hits, including a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in the Mustangs' game against the PCAL Mission Division on Wednesday.
Samantha Bertholdi had a home run and two RBIs. Gianna Johnson and Gisele Rocha each had two hits and two runs scored. Johnson also had one RBI and three stolen bases among the Mustangs' 12 stolen bases. Abba Alvarado and Sofia Canobbio each had a hit, an RBI, and an RBI.
Julianna Lopez and Mae Martin combined for a three-hit shutout. He had a total of 6 strikeouts.
MVC (10-8, 2-6) will play Gonzalez (1-9, 1-7) Friday at 4:30 p.m.

St. Francis 14, Carmel 9: In Wednesday's PCAL Gavilan District win, the Sharks scored in every inning, including a seven-run blast in the fourth inning.
The Sharks had 18 hits against the division-leading Padres (17-4, 14-2). Sophomore Matt Maxon, who was expected to play at Stanford University, had a rough year, giving up 11 hits, 9 runs, and 8 earned runs.
St. Francis (16-4, 13-3) will play Salinas (13-9, 8-8) on Friday at 4 p.m.
San Lorenzo Valley 4, Harbor 3: Larabee Mitchell had one hit, two runs batted in and an RBI as the Cougars earned their first SCCAL win on Wednesday.
Jayden Shively had two hits and one RBI for the Cougars. Brody Egner had a hit and an RBI, J. Clinkenbeard had a hit-and-run, and Cody Houston also had an RBI.
The winning pitcher, Dominic Aguilar, pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs and 2 earned runs. Chabri made the save.
SLV (4-12-2, 1-8-1) will host Scotts Valley (8-7, 4-5) Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
At MVC 12, Pacific Grove 5: The Mustangs scored six runs in the second inning in Wednesday's PCAL Gavilan Division win.
MVC (3-17, 2-14) plays in Carmel Friday at 4 p.m.

Santa Cruz 219, Soquel 233: Tobin Ortiz-McClendon shot a 39 on the back nine to lead the Cardinals to an SCCAL victory on Wednesday at De La Veaga Golf Course.
Cliff Chesnutt (41 points), Bodie Weld (44 points), Sam Wickens (47 points) and Braden Brooks (48 points) also scored for the Cardinals (6-4).
Luke English (41 points), Luke Batty (43 points), Cole Christensen (45 points), Peter Roberos (49 points) and Kyle Lambrecht (55 points) scored for the Knights (3-7) ).
The SCCAL Championship will be held at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro: Santa Cruz's Nat Young will enter the World Surf League's Bonsoy Gold Coast Pro, the first event of the Challenger Series, to be held on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The contest period begins Saturday and runs through May 4th.
Young will face Australians Callum Robson and Alistair Reginato, as well as other surfers determined in heat six of the Round of 64.
