BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU men's basketball announced the signing of Braxton Bayless, a transfer from Niagara University. Bayless, a native of Ankeny, Iowa, will join the Hilltoppers' roster starting in the 2024-25 season after playing for head coach Hank Prona at Indian Hills Community College for two seasons from 2020-2022.
“Braxton is a winner in every sense of the word and will make us even better next year,” Prona said. “Braxton has always been one of my favorite players to coach because he believes team success breeds individual success. , is very good at doing that. Bayless played two seasons with the Purple Eagles, averaging 11.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. While competing at Indian Hills under Coach Prona, the Iowa State native helped IHCC to a 27-6 mark in 2021-22 and a 48-9 mark in his two seasons there. did.
Bayless averaged 9.0 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game at IHCC in 2021-22. He played in 32 games, started 23, and finished the season shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 84.4 percent from the free throw line. Bayless was named Second Team All-Region XI and was also an Academic All-Region XI honoree.
Bayless is the second signee announced by Prona in Topps' 2024 signing class.
