Michigan State football will celebrate its 2023 national championship in style.

Players and staff were presented with rings in a private ceremony on campus. Since the championship, coach Jim Harbaugh has moved on to coach the NFL's Los Angeles Chargers, and the Wolverines have sent a record 18 players to the NFL combine. Quarterback JJ McCarthy has been derided as a top NFL draft pick.
In addition to national championship rings, Michigan players also received official College Football Playoff championship rings, Big Ten championship rings and Rose Bowl championship rings.

“Big house”
According to a press release, Michigan State's home stadium, also known as the “Big House,” was the inspiration for the ring because of its size and transparency. Michigan Stadium is the largest stadium in the United States with a capacity of 107,601 fans. UM went 7-0 at home last season and has won 22 straight games since the 2020 season in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The top of the ring features the iconic Michigan “M” logo in black with a white stone and is made with a custom-cut deep blue stone. The top and bottom edges of the ring read “NATIONAL CHAMPIONS,” and the top of the ring features 15 cobblestones and white stones, representing a perfect record of 15 wins and 0 losses. On either side of the top of the ring he is lined with 12 baguette stones, symbolizing his 12 national championships.
“Who's better than us? Nuobadi!”
Harbaugh's infamous family tagline begins on the left side of the ring and continues across the bezel. Also on this side is his NRG Stadium in Houston, where the championship game was played. With the final score of 34-13, the ceiling of the stadium stretches.

“THOSE WHO WILL STAY WILL BE CHAMPIONS” is written on the inside of the ring, a motto established by Bo Schembechler and adopted by generations since. Next to it is the team's 15-0 record and the official College Football Playoff logo.
“Bed”
The outside of the band is engraved with the word “BET,” a three-letter word posted by Coach McCarthy in response to Harbaugh's suspension for the final three games of the 2023 season. It became the motto of the program.
