After one season in the SEC, the former Oklahoma State big man is back in the transfer portal.
Moussa Cissé entered the transfer portal last offseason before signing with Ole Miss. This is the third time Cisse has entered the portal, according to a report from 247Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Last season at Ole Miss, Cisse started 17 of 26 games, but had his worst season statistically. Cisse averaged career lows in points, rebounds and blocks while playing just 17.8 minutes per game.
Cisse was a consistent starter for two seasons under Mike Boynton before leaving Stillwater in 2023. Although the Cowboys didn't make the NCAA Tournament with Cisse, his impact in 2023 allowed them to finish as a first-team team.
As a junior, Cisse averaged 6.8 points and eight rebounds. He also averaged 1.9 blocks and earned Big 12 All-Defense selection for the second consecutive year.
His best performance of that season, and perhaps of his OSU career, came against UCF, where he had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocks.
That type of outburst was a continuation of his dominance as a sophomore. Cisse won the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award for the 2021-22 season.
The Cowboys ranked second in the Big 12 in points per game and first in blocks. OSU went 8-10 in conference play that season, with Cisse averaging 1.9 blocks and 6.5 rebounds.
Prior to coming to OSU, Cisse was the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year and earned first-team All-Freshman honors at the University of Memphis. Cisse started all 28 games and helped the Tigers go 20-8 and win the NIT Championship.
Cisse hasn't found a long-term home in college basketball, but next game he could once again serve as a defensive anchor in the paint.
