The next two weekends will be very important for the Colorado football program as the Buffs will welcome a lot of talent from high school and the transfer portal. On Friday, head coach Deion Sanders and his staff had a good weekend off and successfully acquired UNLV transfer tight end Charlie Williams.
Williams played high school football at the prestigious IMG Academy and spent his freshman season with the Rebels last fall. His commitment to the University of California represents a homecoming of sorts for Williams, who was born in Aspen and finished his prep career at Florida.
The Buffaloes are also a chance for Williams to earn some playing time. Colorado is currently in a precarious position at the tight end position after losing potential starter Shamon Metayer to the transfer portal.
Williams joins a crowded but inexperienced group of Colorado tight ends that includes Brady Kopets, converted defensive lineman Savell Smalls, and the currently injured Luis Passarello, Antonio Posadas and Morgan Pearson. become. Fellow Colorado native Sam Hart, who transferred to Ohio State, also recently announced his commitment to the Buffs.
