Serra boys basketball coach Bernard McClumby confirmed Friday that he has resigned from his position.
McCrumby coached at Serra for the past seven seasons. The Cavaliers advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 3AA semifinals last season and qualified for the CIF Southern California Regional Playoffs.
McCrumby was an assistant on Dwan Hart's staff. After Hart's death in 2016, McCrumby was promoted to interim coach and then to full coach.
Saint Bernard Men's Basketball Recruiting
There is also an opening for a St. Bernard boys basketball coach position, and the school is accepting applications until Sunday.
“The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching and character development, competing at the highest level, designing and implementing training programs aimed at positioning athletes advantageously to earn college scholarships, and building a culture of excellence and culture.” Manage and lead a nationally competitive high school basketball program, including development and teamwork. ”

The new position replaces Tony Brand, who has coached the Vikings for the past three seasons. Brand is reportedly set for the University of Washington's associate head coaching job.
Brand was named Daily Breeze Coach of the Year after leading the Vikings to the 2022 CIF-SS Division 1 Championship.
South Torrance Women's Basketball Recruiting
South Athletic Director Kevin Van Waardenburg confirmed that women's basketball coach Robert Imamura has retired after 13 seasons. Applications for this position will close on April 26th.

CIF-SS Beach Volleyball
The second round matches are scheduled for Saturday.
In Division 1, top-seeded Mira Costa, who received a bye in the first round, will host Aliso Niguel at the Manhattan Beach Pier. Palos Verdes defeated Dana Hills 4-1 on Thursday and will play Huntington Beach on the road. Redondo defeated San Juan Hills 5-0. The Seahawks will be on the road against Ventura. The match will be played on Monday.
In Division 2, West Torrance lost to Millikan 5-0. El Segundo won the game against Valley Christian 5-0. The Eagles will host Windward in the second round. The game will be played Monday at El Camino College. South Torrance defeated Norco 3-2. The Spartans take on Mayfair on Saturday.
