Maryland women's basketball secured its second transfer of the offseason on Friday, announcing on social media that VCU point guard Sara Tebias will play for the Terps.
Te Beers' exceptional play led to her being named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season, the first time a VCU player has earned this honor since the 2003-04 season.
During his four years at VCU, Te-Biasu consistently performed as a reliable scorer, never averaging less than 10 points per game. Over her past two seasons, she maintained an average of 16 points per game and a shooting percentage of 40.7%. She also stole a career-high 64 bases in the 2023-24 season.
Last season, she ranked 33rd in the nation in 3-pointers made (2.5) and 35th in free throw percentage (86%).
Throughout his tenure at VCU, Tevias earned All-Atlantic 10 third-team honors twice and was also named to the All-Conference Rookie Team after his freshman season. As a junior, she made history by becoming the first Ram player in nearly a decade to score 30 points in a game.
Originally from Canada, Te Beers previously represented his country on the U19 national team.
Te Beers' presence strengthens Maryland's backcourt, joining returning starters Shan'ann Sellers and Brye McDaniel, as well as recently transferred Kaylen Smickle and newcomers Kyndall Walker and Ava McKennie. I will do it.
