West Creek head coach Aaron King was pleased to see the girls' efforts rewarded. “I've spent a lot of practice time working on my offensive habits,” King said. โWe all pulled together today, and I couldnโt be more proud of them.โ
West Creek's offense is led by quarterback Kinley Lewis. Not only does she have a cannon in her arm, but she can also create something out of nothing with her scramble ability. Lewis said she believes consistency is the key to her successful postseason run.
“We found our groove and stayed calm in the face of adversity,” Lewis said. โWe have to stay calm for the next game and mistakes will happen but we have to shake them off because we know what we are capable of.
As for Rossview, the season is coming to an end and they will be looking to rebuild for next year. For West Creek, a game is scheduled for Friday against Clarksville High School. King says they're just taking this one game at a time.
“We're taking everything one step at a time,” King said. โGoing into this, we were just looking at who we were going to play in round one and nothing more. Itโs always good to get momentum in the first round and any team Itโs really good. I like our chances.โ
