Brody Kozlowski, formerly of the University of Southern California, narrowed his choices down to five schools, and BYU was selected along with the University of Nevada, University of California, Stanford University, and SMU. Kozlowski signed with USC and was scheduled to play for the Trojans until head coach Andy Enfield left USC to become head coach at SMU. After Enfield left, Kozlowski requested to be released from his memorandum. Kozlovsky received more than 20 offers during his recruiting process. He is a four-star recruit according to ESPN and is ranked No. 91 on the ESPN 100.
Brody was named the Deseret News 6A Utah Player of the Year. He led Corner Canyon to the tournament, including a 39-point performance against American Fork in the semifinals. Corner Kozlovskiy could only score his 67 points in this game, so you can check out the highlights of that game below.
Kozlovsky clearly has ties to BYU. He is the son of former BYU women's basketball player Kristen Kauzlowski. Kozlovsky is on BYUtv where he hosts pregame and postgame shows for BYU basketball games.
Kozlovski is 6'7 tall and has a smooth jump shot. Kozlovski could be a great fit for a BYU program that relies on 3-point shooting. He is new BYU coach Kevin Young's first high school target. Young wants to spread the floor, move the ball, play five-outs and shoot threes.
Recruiting is Kevin Young's first job. As of this writing, BYU has only seven scholarship players for next season.
