ATHENS, OH โ redshirt junior linebacker Shay Taylor (Mount Perry, Ohio) He talks about spring training and how it feels to take on a leadership role with the Bobcats this season.
On resuming practice
Taylor: It feels so good. It's been quite a while since a bowl game. So we're really excited to be back and ready to hit the ground running.
Carrying the momentum into 2024
Taylor: I think what we're really excited about. [the momentum]. A lot of guys stepped up in the bowl game and people counted out, so it would be good to get some more reps heading into spring ball.
On taking on a leadership role
Taylor: I think it's amazing. key thompson and bryce houston They were great role models for that. So I think it comes naturally because of the leadership skills that they passed on to me. I'm very happy to be able to walk behind their torch and ultimately lead a team that is ready to go.
from key thompson In particular, I want to reflect his aggression and passion and emotion on the field. Off the field, bryce houston Set an example by picking up other players and young players and actually teaching them strategies.
I want to set an example on and off the field. That's something I'm proud of.
about his goals
TAYLOR: So it's obviously trailing. bryce houston's footsteps [CFN] To be an All-American and All-MAC first team like Key and Bryce. But to be honest, that's secondary to winning the MAC. I don't think there's anything I want more than to win the MAC Championship.
