Alabama football has officially brought back its left tackle.
Kaydin Proctor, who transferred to Iowa State in the offseason, returns to Tuscaloosa. He told On3: He plans to re-enroll at the University of Alabama this summer.
Although this has been known for about a month, Proctor was not able to officially enter his name into the transfer portal and transfer until the spring window opened after A-Day. Proctor entered the transfer portal on Tuesday with a “no contact” designation. He told On3 in March that he intended to enter the transfer portal and transfer to Alabama just a few months after returning to his hometown of Iowa.
That included Proctor posting a photo of Michael Jordan on Instagram when he announced his return to the NBA in 1995 with the caption, “He's back.” Proctor was also spotted in the A-Day crowd at Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 13th.

The addition of Proctor gives Alabama much-needed starting experience at tackle. He started on the left side as a freshman in 2023. The Crimson Tide lost starting right tackle JC Latham in the NFL Draft, so Alabama would have to start two new tackles in 2024 if Proctor did not return.
There is currently no limit to the number of times a player can transfer for immediate eligibility, so Proctor will be eligible immediately.
Proctor's return to Alabama is the latest chapter in a wild saga that began when he transferred from Iowa to Alabama just before his 2022 signing date.
