The spring window opens at an interesting time, as many college programs are still in the middle of spring practice. This could mean fewer ambushes of players entering the portal on opening day and more fluidity throughout the window as spring games are played and the depth chart solidifies. The three teams most likely to do well this time around are:
Alabama: The Crimson Tide is under the scholarship cap, and the spring slot will be coach Karen DeBoer's first real chance to bring in players of her choice since being hired in January. . Kadin Proctor, a former Alabama tackle who transferred to Iowa but has since told the Hawkeyes he intends to re-enter the portal, is a player to watch. Proctor said he plans to return to Tuscaloosa.Needs: Offensive line, cornerback
WASHINGTON: Speaking of DeBoer, the Huskies' portal activity is also the result of a slower-than-usual coaching change. Jed Fisch takes over a Washington team that competed for a national championship, but has a lot of work to do as it rebuilds a key piece into the NFL and into the portal. As it stands, this roster is young, so the Huskies will likely shop for experience.Needs: Offensive line, running back, tight end
Miami: Mario Cristobal faces a make-or-break third season in Coral Gables. With former top rusher Henry Parrish Jr. set to leave, the Canes will no doubt look for his replacement in the portal. Expectations are high with Washington State transfer Cam Ward leading the offense, and Miami will want to use this portal window to make sure he has all the tools needed.
