For those who don't know, last season's leading scorer in the NFL was a beast on the board at the time…in fact, he received a sponsorship offer from Billabong when he was in his mid-teens.
We caught up with Mostert this week at LAX to talk about his first love…and while he misses the sport, he knows he made the right decision by focusing on football.
“I just wanted to be the first in my family to graduate,” Mostert said. “That’s why I went to Purdue to get my degree.”
Mostert, who grew up in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., said he was able to get out in the water a little bit while he was in Hawaii for his teammates. tua tagovailoaHe recently held a charity event… But when it comes to turning professional after retiring from football, the 32-year-old said he was working on other things.
“I have to quit. There are other things I want to do. Surfing has always been in my background.”
