YORKSHIRE โ The Fredonia girls flag football team played its first Division 2 South game of the season against the Pioneers on Wednesday, but was taken off the scoreboard and lost 26-0.
Fredonia (1-1, 0-1) couldn't reach the end zone, but Brianna Whitfield and Rosalis Aponte both had interceptions and the defense committed several turnovers. Whitfield also defended two passes and had five flag pulls, while Natalia DiPalma and Julianna Snyder also had five flag pulls. Francesca Pucci led the way with 10 flag pulls.
The Hillbillies return to action Friday against rival Dunkirk in the Orange Bowl.
Looters fall on Hamburg
The Marauders lost a close game against Hamburg 46-12 in a Division II South game at Carl Hoepner Field.

Dunkirk (0-1, 0-1) clinched the winning point in the second half on Jayla Pacheco's long rushing touchdown. The Marauders reached paydirt again as Molly DiCara scored a touchdown through the air with Shayla Currin.
Dunkirk will look to turn the tide this Friday when they face rival Fredonia at 7 p.m.
