This is a big week in Georgia. Not only is the Georgia football program hosting its annual spring scrimmage this weekend, but the biggest tournament in all of professional golf is taking place this week. It's game day in Athens and Masters week at Augusta National.
To celebrate this special occasion, Georgia football's media team released a video with a fun twist to help fans get in the mood for both occasions. The video shows Georgia punter Brett Thorson doing his best to imitate Sunday's Masters while explaining football highlights. Gentle spoken word intermixed with some golf handclaps will be heard as viewers relive some of the best highlights of his 2023 season.
The University of Georgia has several former players who will be competing for the green jacket this weekend, including Russell Henry, Brian Herman and Bubba Watson. Watson is the last Bulldog player to win this tournament, having won in 2014. He also won the green jacket in 2012.
The Georgia Bulldogs will play their annual spring game this weekend at the Masters on Saturday. Head coach Kirby Smart is in his ninth season with the Bulldogs, aiming for his third national title since returning in 2016.
