YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) โ A former NFL wide receiver and football analyst will speak locally next week as part of the Skeggs Lecture Series at Youngstown State University.
Chris Carter will appear at Stambaugh Auditorium on Wednesday, April 17 at 7 p.m.
Carter played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, and Miami Dolphins. Through 16 seasons (1987-2002), Carter was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times, was named first-team All-Pro twice, and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013, according to his news release. After retiring as a football player, Mr. Carter worked as a studio analyst for HBO's “Inside the NFL,” ESPN's signature football programs “Sunday Night Countdown” and “Monday Night Countdown,” and covered ESPN's Super Bowl and NFL Draft. Served as a broadcast analyst. Carter was also a regular co-host on ESPN's highly rated radio show “Mike & Mike.” Most recently, Carter co-hosted Fox Sports 1's daily morning show “First Things First.”
Carter is also the author of Going Deep, which examines the evolution of the wide receiver position. He also serves as a speaker on topics such as leadership, teamwork, and overcoming adversity, including past struggles with addiction.
