Howard women's soccer announced its new class of 2024 on Thursday afternoon.
This fall, newcomers Haley Ayers, Nia Batoon, Maya Blackston, Nadia Bolden, Reese Garcia-Roman, Sinclair Green, Imani Kissi, Courtney McClure, Gabriella Terrell and Nia Young will join the Bison. I plan to join.

Haley Ayers | Chesapeake, Virginia | Alexandria Soccer
Position: Forward
Planned major: Psychology
Achievements: Was named MVP at Hayfield Secondary School in 2023 and led the team to a district championship. That same year he was named All-District and All-Region honors. She plans to pursue her ROTC at Howard as well.

Nia Batoon | Waldorf, MD | VA Union ECNL
Position: Midfielder/Forward
Planned major: Health management
Achievements: Entered the university's early years program as a senior and plans to graduate with a certificate in general studies.

Planned major: Political Science
Achievements: Named captain of the HS team and earned first team all-district and all-region honors.

Position: Defender/Midfielder
Planned major: Biology
Achievements: Earned multiple honors as a player at Mecklenburg HS, including first-team all-conference, all-region, and all-state. He was appointed senior class president and collected honor roll awards. He is a member of the National Honor Society, National French Honor Society, National German Honor Society, American Sign Language Club, National Beta Club, and participates in Jack and Jill of America.

“I chose to become a Bison because I wanted to be able to play and compete at a strong level while attending a school with high academic performance. After visiting the school and meeting the coaches and teammates, I feel more comfortable now.”

Achievements: Named MVP and First Team All-Conference for the high school soccer team, received the Principal's Award, and was named to the A/B Honor Roll.

Planned major: Finance
Achievements: Selected by Mid-Atlantic Talent IDC. He earned first-team All-County and All-Conference honors with his high school team and was named All-Met Washington Post Honorable Mention. He led his HS team to the MD 3A State Championship in 2021 and to a finalist spot in 2022.

Achievements: Named first team All-Conference at HS and helped the team finish as district champions and district finalists.
