As April begins, we've rounded up the month of March and the Georgia football news that came with it.
March is a key offseason month for most college football teams. Spring practice usually takes place in the middle of this month, so most people learn a lot about their favorite teams on the field during this month. That said, there were plenty of newsworthy topics and stories in Georgia's news reporting space last month.
Georgia Football News Roundup – March
Two Future Daughters from the Volunteer Nation
Georgia received two commitments in March, with 2025 DT Stephon Shivers announcing his commitment to Georgia and 2026 QB Jared Curtis also announcing his commitment to the Bulldogs, so those are in the Volunteer State. It was within 24 hours of. Shivers is 6'5 tall, 340 pounds with potential nose to his tackle, and in his highlight tape he features his run for a 75-yard touchdown. You read that correctly. Curtis is the No. 1 ranked QB in the 2026 class and could continue to be heavily recruited by some of the best programs in the country.
Trevor Etienne arrested
When a Georgia football player gets into trouble with Athens-Clarke County police, he makes front-page headlines for a long time. Etienne was disciplined from within the team. In addition, he will also have to undergo disciplinary procedures conducted by the university. Sources say Etienne also did not participate in the first scrimmage this spring, apparently as punishment for his arrest.
Georgia loses two in-state five-stars to USC
Perhaps the most shocking part of the March game was when five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry announced his transfer to the University of Southern California, immediately followed by fellow Peach State five-star Isaiah -Gibson also announced that he would be transferring to the Trojans. The 2025 recruiting process is still in the very early stages, and Georgia remains confident it has a chance of acquiring both in the 2025 class. But it was an unexpected turn of events for the recruiting dynamo.
