Revis and Stagg's last game of March ended in a 0-0 tie on March 28 in Burbank.
The Rams (2-4-1 starting this week) are led by third-year head coach Konrad Dzejic. This season's team captains include seniors Alaina Hernandez and Olivia Sumsies.
“The captains play a huge leadership role on the team in building team chemistry,” Dzezic said.
Some of the younger players on the team include freshman midfielder Isabel Lopez and sophomore goalie Delyanna Arocho.
“Both are phenomenal,” Dziedzic said. “They are game-keeping players and help solidify our defense and solidify our midfield.”
He added that defensive stability was an element that was missing last season.
“Now, when we play against better teams, the games are closer and once we have chemistry, we end up winning more,” he said.
The Stags (3-2-1) are coached by third-year head coach Shannon Creevey. We got off to a good start.
“This team is a great team,” Creevey said. “We have a lot of talent, a lot of veterans stepping up and leading the team, and they're giving 100 percent on the field.”
Key players for the Chargers include Maria Bafia, Sofia Enrique and Jaclyn Rizzo.
Sophomore Isabel Estrada is also among the new students.
Creevy enjoys watching the girls come together and start the season.
“Overall, the team is very cohesive and works very well,” she said. “Everyone is an important piece to this team.”
