Christian Hudson is looking for stability as he searches for college housing. The Class of 2025 defensive lineman hopes his staff doesn't feel stressed about leaving during his tenure.
During an unofficial visit to Iowa football on Friday, the Florida native was relieved to learn more about the Hawkeyes. He felt a solid foundation.
“I liked that the coaching staff has been together for this long,” he told HN. “The whole feeling of being there is great.”
Hudson is scheduled to make an official visit to Iowa on June 21st, and has also sent officials to Central Florida (May 31st) and Maryland (June 13th).
Iowa State played Hudson (6-2, 270 points) on Saturday. He visited Ames in November.
In addition to the aforementioned programs, Hudson reports scholarship offers from the likes of Indiana, Louisville, Penn State, and West Virginia.
Hudson recorded 69.0 tackles (39 solo, 27.0 tackles for loss) as a senior at Dayton Beach Mainland High School last fall, according to Max Preps. He also had 9.0 sacks, three passes defended, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovered.
Hawkeye loves this piece and the matching game film. He is a relentless force in the middle of the defensive line and has also shown an aptitude for pancaking as an offensive lineman.
“They said they liked my aggressiveness and the fact that I was very fluent and dominant on both sides of the ball,” he said of what he heard from the Iowa coaches.
Hudson is soaking up all the information and forming stronger bonds with the schools that show the most interest in him. Iowa State is firmly in the mix.
“I feel really good about the Hawkeyes,” he said.
Academics will be an important factor in his final decision. He plans to major in sports management.
