With the UIL soccer playoffs beginning Monday, the Dallas area's top girls soccer teams are preparing to challenge for their respective regional titles to qualify for the state tournament in mid-April. .
There are a handful of districts in Class 6A that are producing multiple candidates, especially in Region I. District 4-6A includes Southlake Carroll and Trophy Club Byron Nelson. District 5-6A includes Allen and Prosper, and District 6-6A includes Flower Mound, Hebron and Coppell. Region II will feature both Zacks and Wylie East from District 9-6A, potentially meeting for the third time this season to determine who will advance to state.
In Class 5A, two undefeated teams, Frisco Wakeland and Colleyville Heritage, are already the favorites to advance to the state tournament and possibly take home the title.
Only one Dallas-area 4A team, Celina, is in the rankings, but as back-to-back champions they will be the team to beat over the next three weeks.
