A violent fight broke out in the stands during a soccer game between the United States and Mexico on Sunday night, with fans throwing haymakers from side to side…the whole violent scene was captured on video.
It happened at one point during the United States' 2-0 victory in the CONCACAF Nations League finals at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas…when fans of the Mexican team were clearly tired of the gloating American supporters.
Check out the video… A man decked out in red, white and blue was cheering on his team when a Team Mexico fan tried to hit him in the face with a sock.
Then all hell broke out…multiple people jumped into the fray trying to land punches.
The fight lasted approximately 30 seconds, with at least four people throwing hands. Throughout the scuffle, other people in the stadium threw drinks at the combatants.
Fortunately, the tilt subsided when a U.S. supporter was pushed down into a row of chairs.
It's unclear if anyone was arrested, but it wasn't the first time fans misbehaved that night, as matches had to be stopped multiple times after fans chanted homophobic slurs.
CONCACAF issued a statement late Sunday night condemning the action… “It is extremely disappointing that this issue continues to be an issue in some matches.”
“We continue to urge our fans to respect their opponents and all participants in the game and actively support their team.”
